When i first installed windows i named the administrator account (the hidden
one) to "Administrator". ^_~

Is there anyway to change this now post-install? I.e. change the admin
account name - unlike the pseudo a/c name change for normal a/c's (which
doesn't actually change the a/c name (just changes the 'label' instead) - but
to change a/c name and corresponding folder name etc.

yeah you can do this

go to menu> Control Panel>Administrative Tools

go to computer management and then click on local users and Groups.

expand it then click users. You can highlight the account you want and
rename (press F2) or ( just double click) the
users or account names save it then restart, then the should be it.

hope this answers your question

Hi,

You can change the Administrator account name in user account properties,
but in will not rename the folder of the profile. To rename the folder you
must first create one with the name you want, copy the all the files and
folder from the old folder to the new one an then change the registry entry
for the administrator account profile (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\{SID-number} look for "ProfileImagePath").
Changing the registry is always critical, so if it is not absolutely
necessary do not do it. You can always create a new account and copy all the
settings from the old one, here is an article about this:

How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile

I suggest you use the second method.
