Change subject on multiple messages

The goal is to regroup messages in an easy way and consolidate messages
treating the same subject.

I remember with a previous version of Outlook I was able to regroup messages
with the same centent / Subject by dragging and dropping them.
Outlook automatically changed the Subject of these messages to the same one.

Today however I don't seem to be able to do this any more.

Anyone any ideas how to solve this ?

What you did was group by subject and then drag from one group to another.
That's still possible. Use the group by Box and put Subject in it. If you
have the Arrange by function turned on in 2003, just click Subject header
and it should do the same thing.

Tot ziens!

Hi Judy,

Thanks for your answer.
It does change my view a little when I switch from group by to Arrange by.

However, I can group by subject and / or arrange by subject but it is
nevertheless not possible to drag and drop one subject group to another.
This in order to change all the subjects and have them grouped as one.

I don't know whether I expressed myself clearly;
As a manager I want to consolidate all mails handling the same logical
subject (to me), disregarding the typo's, subtasks, changes of subject to all
the same subject.
And this for a group of messages, not just one by one changing the message
subject by hand :-)
Eg:
Message 1 - Subject: Training for the department
Message 2 - Subject: Train for the department
Message 3 - Subject: Training for John Doe
All the messages can be regrouped to the logical Subject of the first message.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Kind regards,

I think you'll have to add the Category column to your mail folder views.
Then select all the emails that relate to an issue, right click and select a
Category for them. You can then Group By Category. So for example all
stuff to do with Hans de Gans would be in the same Hans de Gans Category.
(He was my headmaster at the Larense Montessori School many years ago).

Sorry - I didn't check my previous solution - it's one of those
inconsistencies in Outlook, you can't change a subject. You can change
everything else I have ever tried to do using that method though :)
