Change server IP

I have a brand new Win2003 server I am setting up. I have installed AD on
it, as well as DNS, but I haven't yet joined any clients to it. My question
is, I would like to change the IP address on it, and was wondering if this
would trouble my AD either now or down the road. Just changing on the same
subnet, from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.9, for example.

Should I be ok? I'm particularly worried about DNS, as AD hopelessly depends
on it, and it seems rather fragile.

If you have dynamic DNS enabled, then your DNS server will make the change
automatically when you change the server IP address. Otherwise, just make
sure that you manually edit the server's DNS records so that your clients
can still find the server correctly. Since you haven't joined any clients
to your network yet, I'd go ahead and make the change now, since it'll be
the least disruptive time to do it on the off chance that you experience any
difficulties.

Thanks. I did notice a slew of DNS errors at next reboot, but after another
reboot it seems clear. Probably just purging/updating itselt I guess.

Thanks!
