Hi,
I open regedit, then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber

I do change the port to another numbere (in Decimals) say 3000
ok, and close. But nothing happens, the port is still the same.
Anyideas ?

You must reboot the machine before the change takes effect.

I have attempted to change the listening port also but have not been able to
get it to work. I have done it exactly according to MS articles 306795 and
304304 as suggested below. Any ideas?

I fiured it out - the XP firewall was blocking the access to the listening
port and had to re-configured to allow exception to that port. Works great
now!
