I use the built in printer menu for printing. I was wondering if there is
anyway to set the default on the printer menu as Selected reccord, so we can
print out just the active record on a form.
Thanks for any help,
Pixie

For anything that matters, you end up creating a report for printing. The
layout of the form can be quite different than the form, e.g. the report
does not have drop-down lists or scrollbars which don't work very well when
printed on paper.

Once you have the report you can easily ask it to print just the current
record. See:

Thank you very much that helped.
Another question on the same thing but what about subforms can you do the
same thing or is there anther trick to this?
Thanks again,
Pixie

Absolutely.

Provided the subform's table has a primary key so you can uniquely identify
the record, you can open the report filtered to that value.

thank you very much again.

One more question is there anyway to change the printer defaults on the
popup printer?

Thanks,

If you are using Access 2002 or 2003, you can manipulate some properties
through the Printer object. In earlier versions of Access, this was more
involved.

There is an example you can download in this article:
Printer Selection Utility
at:

It shows how to choose the report for the printer before opening it by
setting the Printer object, and also how to get Access to remember to use
that printer again for that report next time.
