Change order names are presented in Auto-complete

When I type a name into the "To" line, auto-complete offers suggestions
assuming that I am typing the first name. I have 100's of names and would
prefer to have them listed by last name first as they are in the
address-book and Contacts list. Is it possible to have Auto-complete
organized by last name first?
