Change name of administrator in Win XP Pro

I wish to change the name of the current administrator so
that it will appear in the Documents and Settings and
other related places. Currently it's "Fred" and I wish
to change it to "Ginger." You cannot just change the
name as it's a Windows system file and it won't let you.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings:

Start\Run\Gpedit.msc\Machine Configuration\Windows configuration\Security
Configuration\Local Directives\Security Options\Accounts: change
adminstrator account name.

Hope this helps......

Thanks for the response but I can't find some of
the "folders" or "Headings" after putting in Gpedit.msc.
I do get the Group Policy window but still don't see
where to change the administrator account name. Any
ideas what I'm not doing correctly?

The name of the profile in Documents and Settings will always
be what was the name of the account when first used.
It does not get renamed as you noticed when the account is
renamed. One can define a new account and do the song and
dance to get the new profile to have what was in the old.

The policy to change the admin account name is in the Computer
branch, in the security settings local policy security options
You may get the account renamed by just using lusrmgr.msc also

Thanks Roger, it allowed me to add the name to the list
of administrators. Now if I could only change the name
of "fred" in Documents and Settings. Just wondering...
