Change Computer Name?

Just set up my new computer with Vista. First listed
computer's name as (for example) AAAA. Later decided I
wanted to change it to BBBB. Found the right window (System
Properties/Computer Name) and changed the "Computer
Description" to BBBB, but that leaves the "Full computer
name" as AAAA. How can I change the "Full computer name"?

Thanks.

If I understand you correctly - and I'm not sure I do - your
suggestion does not work.

Control Panel > System > Change Settings > Change
enter new computer name. Press OK
you may have to reboot to make it effective

Click Start > right click Computer > click 'Properties' > Advance System
Settings > Computer Name (tab) > click Change and enter the appropriate
computer description.

When I enter the new name the OK button is faded, and does
not work. Other ideas? Thanks.

I'm using the Classic mode. When I click Start there is not
a "Computer" option shown.

Other ideas? Thanks.

I have seen this before. It happend when i was only changing like one letter
of the name. what i did was rename it to something that is completely
different than what it was. restart. then rename it what you really want it
to be. Also I dont think the computer name can be the same as any of the
user account names. hope this helps,

Thanks. That's all it took.
