When I change an excel speadsheet (created with 2000) in 2002, save it, then
view it in 2000, the formulas do not work. When I reopen the speadsheet in
2002, I see the green corner (upper-left) signifing that there is a
problem-the problem being that now the cell is text not number, causing it
not to be included into the formula. How can I use both (one is from home
(excel 2002) and one is from work (excel 2000) and still have the formulas
work?

Give a few examples of formulas for which this occurred. This shouldn't
happen, and if it is happening, it's likely due to what's in these cells.

an example would be "=b200/b5"
just simple formulas like that would be placed in there and then it would
change the bottom numbers (ie: cell b50:b70 and c50:c70).

by 'change the bottom numbers' i mean the numbers in the bottom of the sum
formula (ie: sum formula is something like "=c8:c199") the bottom numbers
(cells b50:b70 and/or c50:c70) change to text instead of number so the sum
function disregards them and doesn't add them throwing off the totals

Hi
I've never encountered such an issue with Excel 2000 / Excel 2002. If
you like you may send me both files. One saved with either version
