Hello,
Setup = two pcs, one windows 2003 server which is the
domain server. 2nd pc is a windxp Pro pc.

I changed the password on the account I use to access the
winxp pc, on the server in AD. Now I cannot login on to
the winxp pc at all, it gives an error (The system could
not log you on. ...) I can logon to the local winxp pc,
with the new password, and it can see the network and
server. But when I try to logon to the winxp pc to get to
the domain with the windows 2003 server domain account I
get an error also, ( The system cannot log you on now
becease the domain xyz is not available).

Suggestions please?

Of course you can't log onto the domain - you aren't being authenticated
because you changed the password on the workstation! You need to change
the password on the domain server. If you aren't the one responsible
for this, then you need to contact your IT Dept. and tell them what
you've done and have them make the changes on the server.

When I changed the password it was on the server, under
active directory users and computers. I just clicked on
the user account and reset the password.

Sorry - I misread your post. Did you give the domain administrator the
proper privileges on the workstation? In other words, if the domain
administrator isn't allowed to make changes on the local workstation,
this could cause the problem you describe. If that doesn't help, then a
great place to post server/workstation queries is on one of the Windows
server newsgroups. You might want to try here:

microsoft.public.windows.server.general

Good luck,

Malke
