Do you need a certain DVD player to play a DV-AVI file?
I burned my slideshow to CD-R as DV-AVI file, it just
spins in the DVD player, wont play anything on the screen.
Wondered if you need a specific DVD player to play that
type of file?

About 5 DVD in the world will play back AVIs. You need to convert those to
VCD's or SVCD's.

HOW DO I DO THAT? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!
I dont know how to convert an AVI to a "VCD or SVCD".
Can you tell me specifically how to do that?

I spent many hours trying to figure why my movie would
not play, it was fine DVD player would not read RW+ that
my DVD burner used. Went to Best Buy and tried them until
I found one that worked then bought it!

You can burn & play a AVI on the computer, but a home unit will not play the
avi. AVI has to be converted to DVD compatible mp2 then loaded into DVD
authoring software, after its done you can now burn and play on home player.
It's a long process.
