Centered title keeps goin back to left justified.

Ok I must be doing somethin wrong. I type in a title to a slide. Select
from tool bar to have the two line title centered on page rather that
justified to the left default. Ok loooks good. but when I go back to slide,
it is back to the left again. why won't it stay after I highlight it ,center
it, and click save.

I am working with 2003 powerpoint. And you totally lost me about the master
thing. How would I check that

Go to View/Master/Slide Master. How many slides are in the thumbnail pane on
the left?
