Cell/Variable content substitution

I have a the following in an excel cell:

=GETPC|SP?!NumTicks

I am trying to modify it so that cell C2 contains the value "SP?" and
it is substituted into the above formula. Something like

=GETPC|$C$2!NumTicks

That doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks.

Is that a DDE link to a data provider? If so, you're out of luck as
such links don't support the indirection that you're trying to do (or
any other type <g>).

I realize this is a few years old now but i'm having the exact same issue.


Anybody come up with a decent workaround?
