I have one cell in an excell doc (office xp) that has no
outline, it is open to the cells on either side as well
as above and below...
This happened when I tried to paste some text into that
cell. I have since deleted the text, but am unable to
correct the cell. I have tried "format cell" and the only
option is "outline" that created the desired borders but
is conciderably darker than the other gridlines.
thanks in advance,
trevor

Hi Trevor!

When you select Format Cell>Borders there should be a
selection of line styles to choose from. From the sound of
your description you probably are talking about the
gridlines. In the line style selection box under the word
NONE is the equivalent of a gridline. Click on that line
style then click on OUTLINE. Then click OK. That should do
it.

Biff,
thanks for your reply. I was able to get an ouline to
that cell as you mentioned (outline/none/border/etc)
before I posted my origional post. However the outline of
that cell does not match all the gridlines, and that cell
remains visably different.
This problem does not effect the way the program runs,
It's just that I know that there MUST be a way to correct
it that I'm just not seeing yet.
Thanks,
trevor

Most likely the cells' background color is set to "white" which will wipe out
the gridlines.

Re-format the cells in question to "no color".

Select the cells and Format>Cells>Patterns> "No color"

Hey, you are being persistent enough. You're on the right
track. It oft times takes experimenting with different
colors until you get the correct match. DO use the cell
formatting tools. I use them all the time to do what you
are doing.
