cell in footer

How do I insert the contents of a particular cell into the footer?

I need to have the date of the sheet in the footer. We enter the date in a
particular cell (say D7) on each sheet and that needs to be shown in the
footer.

The date needs to be static. It cannot change each time the worskbook is
opened or calculated.
