Hi,

I'm having this problem where you insert a CD and the CD icon flashes next
to your mouse pointer.

Hardware: Lite-On LTN382 detected by WindowsXP SP2

All of my IDE drives are detected atuomaticly. I can see the drive but it
doesn't want to play any CD, even when I boot with a bootable CD.

I've also tried the troubleshooter with no luck fixing it. "Please get
support elsewhere"

Thanks for your help

If it won't boot from a bootable CD and you're sure you've got that
configured right, then it's a hardware problem. The good news is that cd
drives are cheap.

One last test you can do is to boot from a floppy that had dos cd drivers on
it, and see if you can access the drive that way.

Go into Device Manager...delete any cdrom drives. Reboot.

Have a nice one...
