cdrconv.exe error on graphic insert to wordperfect 10

(1) Have had Wordperfect Office 10 installed and
operating well on fresh install of XPproSP1, then did
full and complete update of all WinXPproSP1 critical
updates + DX9.0b, WMP9, etc. etc. Now get CdrConvert
errors (non-fatal) whenever I try to insert
a .jpg, .bmp, .tiff graphic into a document. This error
presumably relates to Corel's CdrConv.exe which is used
to convert graphics to WPG's. Once in a while graphic
insert completes, but graphic has one quadrant blacked
out.

Of course, all MSO'00 apps are working fine.

Tried a suggestion to set AppCompat=Win98 for WP10.exe
and PR10.exe, that helps, but too inconsistently for day-
to-day ops.

(2) Have permitted related error reports to be sent to MS
and get a lengthy report sent back, but it doesn't show
up anywhere. (Do have 821253/821558 installed for
automatic viewing of ER.) I assume MS is trying to tell
me something about (1), but it's in some BB somewhere.

Would appreciate help on either or both of these issues.
