CD wont play audio discs

Thanks to those who answered my question yesterday, however I should have made myself clearer. The d: drive works fine for DVDs, it is just audio cds which it doesn't play or read. This makes me think the drive itself is fine, but I am confused as to what's gone wrong with the audio cds

How do you know you DVD player will play CD audio disk..?

All DVD players are required to read audio CDs; it's part of the DVD spec.

I have two DVD burners and did not know they played reg CD's. Good bit of
info.
