I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with both a DVD Drive and a CD-RW drive. I
inserted a CD into the CD-RW drive so that I could download the songs into
ITunes. Only problem is that now I can't get the CD to eject. The computer
recognizes the CD and I can still play the music from the CD, but it won't
eject (tried manual eject button, tried eject option in ITunes and tried
eject option under "My Computer"). Any suggestions? Thanks.

Get a pin or a paperclip (bend it straight) and use the forced ejection hole
on the front of the CD drive..if you can't find it you may need to take the
drive out (I know dells have funky fronts for their CD drive but they tend
to get in the way)

Something simple to try: Reboot the PC.

Yes, thank you so much. I'm always afraid to "break" anything on the drive
itself and evidently hadn't been pushing far enough with the pen I had used
to try that technique. A paperclip did the trick. Again, thank you.

I have a similar system with the same problem. For me it started after
installing sp2. If you continue to have this problem try reinstalling your
burner software..I'm running Easy CD Creator since you also have a Dell i'm
guessing you may have the same program. After the re-install i haven't had
any problems with my cd-rw.

Stick a pin in the hole located on the face of the drive. It releases the
locking mechanism.
