cd rom problems coming from virus program

my cd player wont play my cds . every time I try to run the cd rom test my mcafee virus program says that I it is using a strange script. Could the virus program be messing up my cd player also and if so how do I resolve this problem.
 
Check with Network Associaties to see if this is a known issue with your
version of VirusScan. Anti-virus programs have been known to cause this sort
of problem in the past.
