CD-ROM & DVD RW ERROR CODES

CDROM SAYS -Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

DVD RW SAYS-Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

You have 'orphan' entries in the registry, probably left from an
uninstalled (or incompatible) CD burning package. To tidy up, get a
registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry

You will then need to reinstall any burning software that you *do* use.
Make sure it is in an XP compatible form first.
