I run XP Pro + Service pack 2 on Gateway Computer with 2 writable CD drives.
When I export files to a re-writable CD to Add to and edit on my Fujitsu
laptop (XP Home) They are "read only". I read in someone else's reply to a
question on this that I need to untoggle the checkmark by right clicking the
file (when exporting or when opening on the laptop?" but I cant find the
toggle anywhere to uncheck.

Please help.

That should be in file properties. Either select File>Properties or right
click the document and select Properties. Be sure the General tab is the
active one (on top) if there is more than one.

Once file copied to hd, in explore, locate file, right click/properties....
untick read only.
By design files on the cdr are read only, unless you use pkt writing
software.
