When I insert a cd into my CD or my DVD drives they do not read the cds. I have to restart my computer with the cd inside the drive in order for the drive to read the cd. When I go into Safe Mode I can insert and take out the cds freely and the cd drive will read the cd fine, which shows that there is nothing physically wrong with the hardware. My guess is that I recently downloaded something from Windows Update that messed up the properties of the cd drives when I'm on my user name. Does any one know how to fix this problem?

Download and install a tiny patch from the following URL to delete
upper and lower filters from the Windows registry:

Good luck
