Recently I went to put in a CD and nothing showed up (usually auto-run
takes over and opens a program for the CD). I thought nothing of it
and went to My Computer and what do you know.. the CD-Drive (it's also
a burner if that helps) isn't there!! (It has previously worked.. for
a long time without any problems) I've checked all the connections
(custom made computer by my friend) and even tried a second CD-Drive
with a second cable that we know work but it still showed up in Device
Manager as "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this
hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41) Click
Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device." First of
all I checked in Bios that it does recognize it and second,
Troubleshoot doesn't help.. as usual. I tried the CD-Drives' (ATAPI I
think) website but they have no technical help or a phone number to
call. I search Microsoft.com up and down and I find no updates or
anything. If anyone could help I'd kiss your feet... Metaphorically..
