CD Drive malfuction?

I am trying to burn some audio to a CD in my CD drive E but the message says
I don't have a disk in there even though I have tried several. What am I
doing wrong?

Trying to use a drive that has hardware issues?
Have you tried one of the CD cleaners? If the laser is dirty, the drive
will malfunction. Sometimes this helps, sometimes it doesn't.

Otherwise, it is new drive time.

Check that Recording is Enabled..

Right click your E: drive in explorer > Choose Properties > Go to
"Recording" tab > Check the checkbox "Enable CD recording on this drive" >
Click OK
