Customer of mine has a new IBM.... Managed to install office 2002 on it, so
he must have used the CD, but now looking at his Windows explorer , there is
no CD drive shown. He's using XP Pro SP2.
I need to add a program to his computer, But I need to see the CD to do it.
Alsoe when he inserts his Office 2002 CD rom the install app would normally
come up and show automatically, on this computer it doesn't, what's wrong,
What can we do to fix it?

Thanks for any help,

Bob

Go to Start > Run and type in: devmgmt.msc
and press the Enter key. After the Device Manager
window opens, scroll down to your DVD/CD-ROM
drives, click the "+" to expand, then right-click on
your CD Drive and select Uninstall. You will
be prompted to reboot your computer, so reboot
and Windows XP will reinstall the CD Drive.

In the device manager the CD_rom ( or DVD) drive does not seem to be there,
so I suppose we have to try and add a new device. I tried looking for it but
could not find it.
Thanks Bob
