cd converts but will not burn

When burning a CD in Windows Media Player it converts all
of the songs but when it begins to copy the songs onto the
CD it gets about 2 or 3 done from the playlist and then
closes the disc. Ruining a CD and only coping 2 or 3 songs
from the playlist.

Please Help.

That is kind of what my windows media player is doing

except before copying the songs to disc error pops up
saying encountered error w/recordable disc. I bought new
discs but same error comes up. Any luck w/yours?
