When I insert a cd into my desktop, it's contents is not displayed in "my computer". Only when the cd is in the drive before start-up will it's content be displayed. any removal or insertion of a cd is not recognised by the PC. Also "refresh"-command has no effect.

Hi

Do you have Nero Burning Rom installed?

When I insert a cd into my desktop, it's contents is not displayed in "my
computer". Only when the cd is in the drive before start-up will it's
content be displayed. any removal or insertion of a cd is not recognised by
the PC. Also "refresh"-command has no effect.

Hi

I have the same problem, and as far as I can determine it seems to be Nero
related. I have a similar problem, but it occurs on CDs that I make in Nero.
Once the data is copied onto the disk, I open Windows Explorer, the CD is
shown as being empty. I have to eject the disk and then re-insert. Only then
will Windows Explorer view the contents of the CD.

This happens on all the Windows XP computers in our office that have Nero
installed. We have Nero 6.3.1.10 installed and so far in every version we
have the same problem.

Nero support is also totally useless.

If you ever find a solution let me know.

Hi Purspyk
The "expert" I am consulting with my problems suggests it is a glitch in WINDOWS XP and cannot be cured - wrong, of course, because I have XP on my laptop (NERO not installed) and dont have that problem. Since XP can take over the disk burning function I will remove NERO from my desktop and see what happens. Will let you know
regards

Have removed NERO but no change to the problem
