It should but if it doessn't there are other players.try www winamp.com or www nero.com( win amps good and its shareware

Do not bother with version 5 even with the patches.
Go to Roxio's webpage forum and see the problems, gripes,
complaints, about that version using XP.
I suggest version 6, or going to Nero.
