i am trying to cpoy some music onto a CD for my car.
i have two operating systems 98 and XP. whenever i try to
copy music the buffer rating goes straight to 100% and my
cd writing progress goes to 4% and stops. the time keeps
ticking by and after a minute or so i get a message saying
burn process failed at 4%.

this is really annoying me and i would like it fixed as
soon as possible.

any help will be really appreciated

Thanks

Does this happen under both operating systems? If so, you know it isn't
a Windows issue. What program are you using to burn? Is your CD-RW
drive pretty new or very old? Try burning at a slower speed; i.e., if
your drive is rated for 52x, burn at 40x or even 32x.

still no luck.

You didn't give any specs for your computer, but I assume it's fairly
new if you're running XP. Make sure you don't have lots of other
programs running in the background and that you're computer is free of
any viruses and spyware. If all of that is good, then swap out the
drive for a different one because the drive could be failing. The fact
that it happens under two different operating systems leads me to
believe the problem is hardware, not software.
