CD burning probem in windowsXP

My OS is XP home, SP2. When I record files to a CD-R with XP's built-in CD
burner, more files cannot be added on a subsequent session; Windows Explorer
reports 0 free space, even though less than 100 MB have been written to a 650
MB CD.

I would appreciate if someone can suggest a solution to this problem.
Norton's WinDoctor had once reported an error to the effect that AMAPI cannot
find a .dll file that it needs, and it had deleted that registry entry.

Purchase a true CD burning application or wait until Microsoft gives you the
same functionality.

You can get Ahead Nero or Roxio for under $10 online in several places.
There are several free alternatives as well.
