CD burning keeping created date

I am trying to burn files to CD using WIndows Explorer, Edit, "Copy to
folder" feature.
When the files are copied to the CD it shows the current date (modified
date) and looses the "created date" which is handy to keep to sort out by
date later on.
Is there something I can do to keep the created date. I like copying that
way as it is more practical than opening Nero or Roxio and going through all
the paces, but if this is the only way I can keep the created date on the new
CD, then I have no choice.
Could someone please advise?
Thanks. Yappy Box

You could zip them first and then save the zip file to cd, but this is an
extra step. This would only be usefull if you brought the individual files
off the cd onto hard disk later when working with them.

If you move them from hard disk to cd, does it keep the original dates. If
so, then again zip of something like it to make a temp copy of the files,
then moving them to CD could work, but an extra few steps and disk space.

I use nero create data disk myself, but then have the problem when you drag
them back to hard disk later, you lose the original date. I can use zip to
extract individual files from the dvd onto the hard disk and unziping that
retains the dates but need something better myself there.
