cd burner will not burn

Hi I have a samsung cd r/rw and it will not burn anything in winxp, We had not problems with winme or win98. I cant buy a new burner, what can I do? Or what am I doing wrong. I can use it any other way, no problem!! HELP!!

What happens when you attempt to burn? Error messages?
