I have attpemted to look through the help support
knowledge base on the microsoft site to no avail it is
far to difficult to find a single thing! So i came here.

I am constantly getting pissed off at windows when i put
in a cd!!! It will ALWAYS open up a new explorer screen
every time. I have changed the autoplay settings for
everything to Take no action, and yet it persists in
saying bugger you i am gonna do it anyway basically. and
i am sick and tired of it!

It isn't exactly a problem or anything major, just
extremely aggravating! So if anyone could tell me
something i might be able to do to stop this bloody
annoyance then that would be greatly appreciated!

Regards
Ray

If you want nothing to happen when you insert a CD, you can:

- Hold down the Shift key while inserting a CD. Do not realease Shift until
the drive's initial spin up stops. The light on the drive with the newly
inserted CD will stop blinking when this has finished.

OR

- Install TweakUI for XP and use it to disable "AutoPlay" on a per drive
basis. TweakUI is one of the Power toys for XP. The current version
available for downloading is *only* for XP with SP1. It is available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
