I have the Windows XP OS. My computer has a combo CD (D
drive) and DVD-Ram Multi Recorder (E Drive). I have had
no difficulty burning data to DVD disks. But today when I
tried to burn music to a CD in the CD drive, it would not
take. The message I got was that Media Player did not
recognize the CD-RW. I have yet to find out if my CD
drive has burnable capabilty. Question: Can I put a CD-RW
disk in my DVD drive and burn music to it, and then play
that CD in my stereo equipment?

Thank you for any assistance you can give me.

You can burn and play CDs and DVDs in your DVD recorder.
Look at the labels on the front of the drives. If the labels are DVD ROM
and Compact Disc, than that drive is a player only.
If the label is DVD-R/RW and Compact Disc Recordable/Rewritable, then you
can play DVDs, play and record DVD-R, play CDs and play and record CD-R and
CD-RW.
Sorry, do not know what the label is for drives that also record and play
the DVD+R format.

Thanks, Don.
