I would like to use my Outlook 2003 for repeating reminders. The
instructions say I should use an appointment rather than a task to
accomplish this. My question is, can I set the appointment to a certain
category and then tell Outlook not to display that category as I don't want
it to show in the regular monthly view? (Of course I want it display at the
appropriate time) (Did that make sense?)

So you want to hide the appointment until the time it's due?
Hmmm...that's a little tricky. What sort of repeating reminders do you
need? Maybe with a little more info on what you're trying to accomplish
we can give you an idea of another way to do it.

Just a simple note that pops up each day. I understand that I can't use
tasks feature because it's reoccurring feature is tied to the previous
completion time (I may not be there to see it right away) rather than a
fixed time each day.

Well, you can do that with a calendar item. Or you could use the
Windows task scheduler to open a text file at the same time each day.
(we have a client that does that)

I don't see how to do it with the Calendar, that's why I made the post.

Bob

Create a recurring, all-day event, and set the reminder option.
