Hello, may I ask whether or not it is possible to record
from a cassette to a CD-R through a computer, if so how?

It is possible and it's actually not all that difficult. A knowledgeable
regular in another newsgroup has prepared this info:

I ask you if you know the name of the cable I would
require to hook a cassette player up to a PC as I may
need to purchase one.

Its called a Y ADAPTER, 2 RCA PLUGS TO A 1/8 IN.-3.5 MM PLUG, Wal-Mart
usually has them.
