Suddenly, my computer (running Windows XP with SP 2) doesn't make a small
noise - like ringing a bell, softly - when the Caps Lock key is pressed.

Although I use a text editing program that allows me to convert from upper
to lower case (and vice versa), it is bothersome to do so, especially since
I did not have to convert before now.

How would make my computer make a small noise when the Caps Lock key is
pressed?

Thank you,

Barry Karas

Possibly turned on under XP's Accessibility Options. IIRC, there is an
option in there for an audio alert when Cap Locks is engaged.

Or it is an option in the software for the keyboard. Software for a
keyboard will have its own interface (program window) *or* it will
integrate additional options into XP's Control Panel> Keyboard.

In the Control Panel, Accessibilty Options, Accessibility Options (again),
on the Keyboard Tab check the ToggleKeys box. (caps lock, num lock, and
scroll lock)
