Cap Lock Disable

Searched for and tried at least 3 suggestions to disable the Caps Lock
on my keyboard. None have been successful.

Wife has severe macular degeneration (now legally blind) and cannot tell
when the cap lock has been inadvertently
activated during her email writings using OE6. But she wants to tuff it
out.

Using WinXP SP2 and IE6 (also partake of Firefox)

Suggestions, please. Thanks

You can edit the registry to disable caps lock -

You can have your system generate a tone/beep when caps lock gets turned
on/off - Start...Settings...Control Panel...Accessibility Options...Keyboard
tab, check "Use Toggle Keys", click Apply, click Okay.

Had tried John Haller's fix without success - I screwed up somewhere.
Others are too complicated as the severe macular degeneration demands
simplicity. However, tried Haller again after your suggestion and did
the second go-round successfully.
