Can't view XP Recycle Bin List of Files

When I click on the recycle bin to view list of files I can't see them. It shows the window to view the files but I can't see them as they are hidden. I need your help with this problem and I don't know how to fix it

had same problem on win7. created a useless icon on desktop,restarted and entered safe mode.deleted icon and restarted as normal.dont know how but it worked for me.
