Can't view some pictures - red x appears...

Hi

I have Internet Explorer V6.0 and on some web sites
pitures do not load up and red x appears instead.

I have tried the advice on the Microsoft web site (i.e.
defaulting security settings etc...)but to no avail - can
anyone suggest a fix?
