Can't view JSP or GIF files

Just installed XP with IE6 Now I can't get JSP or GIF
files to open All I get is a small white box with a red
X in the middle. What setting do I need to change?
 
I take it that this is on the internet? Im having the
same problem as of yesterday which is driving me insane.
Until someone replies to my similar question on this
board, i think ill have no alternative but to reinstall
windows.
