So which is it, Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer that won't "open"? By "won't open", does that mean you never see the window appear for the program or that you cannot connect to the Internet? "Through your local company" means who? Your ISP (Internet Service Provider), your employer's network? What is IT that you need help with? Be more detailed, please.

I am sorry.........my explorer wont even try to open, when I click on the "e".
I can open any messanger I want but cant open any e mails. I have Msn explorer that I get on to surf. My internet is through ISP.
I hope this helps you to help me.

Open Task Manager, Processes tab, sort the list, and position the list so you can see any process that happens to load that starts with an "i". Leave Task Manager open (and configure it to always stay on top).

Now use Start -> Run to run iexplore.exe (Internet Explorer). Do you get a window for the program? Do you see an iexplore.exe process in Task Manager?

Is your Internet connection via broadband (cable or DSL) or using dial-up?

I have highspeed dial up
I open task manager and it was already configure to always stay on top.
But still no luck. thanks anyways.

I just found somthing that might have something to do with it....activeX control...says its damage??? could it be?

"No luck" doesn't tell me if you never saw a window open for IE or if you never saw an iexplore.exe process show up in Task Manager. "No luck" doesn't describe anything of what happened.

So WHAT did the message say? You're being too vague again.
