Hi

I have a program that I want to uninstall, however when I go to add and
remove programs I am unable to uninstall it as a file has been corrupted.
I am also unable to reinstall it as it says a copy already exists.
Is there anyway to remove this from my computer, or any free software that
will do it

Thanx

Is this Vista or XP? I ask because you're posting in a Vista newsgroup but
there is no "Add/Remove" programs applet in Vista. It's under Programs and
Features.

Have you checked in the program folder to see if there is an uninstall
routine or an uninstall option in the program group entry in Start?

What is the program? If there is no uninstaller and you can't reinstall,
contact the program author for help with removing it. The last resort is to
delete the program files, route around in the registry to remove any
settings, and run the Windows Installer Clean UP Utility to remove it if it
show up there.

If it's a recent installation you an also run System Restore. That will
remove monitored files.

Yeah it is Vista that I am running

The program is surething, I have tried uninstalling from Vista and by using
the program uninstaller, no work.
I also can't reinstall as it says there is a copy there.

Sorry I'm not familiar with "Surething". I suggest you start with
contacting the program author.

If you end up having to do this the hard way deleting files and rooting
through the registry I strongly recommend using a drive imaging program such
as Acronis True Image to image the system to an external drive before doing
the surgery on it. If something goes wrong you can restore the image. If
things go well, then great, and you have a good backup solution to use.
