I installed an SIS Raid driver utility when i was thinking i was going
to set up a raid on my pc. I changed my mind and decided not to have a
raid. I then went to uninstall the raid drivers and found that there
was no option to uninstall. I tried the install option again thinking
that it might identify the "Uninstall" option but no such option was
there, it just reinstalled the drivers again. I then went to
add/remove programs SiS Raid does not exist in the list. I then found
it in the registry under hkey_local_machine\software\Silicon Integrated
Systems.

Given that there is no record of this install in add/remove programs
nor in the device manager, am i safe to just delete this registry entry
or will that cause more problems?

Some drivers (especially boot drivers) do not get an uninstall option. If the
RAID drivers are not listed in Device Manager, then I should not worry. If
they are, then you can do the following: I you are not using the RAID port
(off the motherboard) you can turn the RAID ports off in the CMOS/BIOS. If
you are using the RAID ports for non-RAID drives, then you might have to
re-install your XP as a "clean" installtion (format and re-install.)

Look for the UninstallString at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Then run the string at a Command Prompt or in the Start | Run box.

I removed the card. So no motherboard involved. Nothing in any uninstall. I deleted everything in the Reg I can find, double, triple checked and more.

I used Autorun, System Repair Engineer

I have done searches on line and most that comes up is this same thread for idiots all over the place.

I just want to get rid of this RAID stuff without a blue screen. Can anyone help.

PS: Noting in Device Manager - .
