Can't uninstall programs

Well a week back my brother had a problem and decided to re-install windows, this lead to many problems one of which is the following:

The add/remove programs list does not show the programs that were installed prior to the re-install of windows.

For example I have a game that I can play. When I insert the game it asks me to install the game, but I just have to click on the icon on my desktop to play it. Also, there is an expansion pack that I just bought and I want to install it, but it cant find the game installed (it tells me to please install the original game first)

I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with our accounts.

My original account (before reinstall) was my name and my last name

but when my brother re-installed he made it just my first name, he did the same thing with his account.

Any tips? I'm very confused and may just re-format if I can't figure this and several other problems out.

Hi,

Your brother created a new installation rather than reinstalling over the
old one. Programs will need to be reinstalled to function properly.
