Can't un-anchor the cursor!

Somehow the cursor became anchored on a cell, such that
it wants to select a range in every direction. Neither
left, nor right mouse key clicks will un-anchor it, and
the keyboard won't even allow manual key stroke commands
for me to save my work.

Any suggestions????

Also, make sure scroll-lock is off
I have also had problems with the button on my pushed in to far and
locking the cursor, try zooming in and out with mouse wheel.

Thanks Frank for the suggestion, but it does not appear
to be a simple EXT issue. F8 does nothing, and the rest
of the keyboard is pretty much useless, except for the
Windows key to get to start, and ctrl-alt-del worked to
get me out of Excel, but upon re-entry to Excel the same
problem recurs as soon as I select a cell.

The link you provided suggests that this is a pretty
serious bug that cannot be replicated so therefore hard
to diagnose. It also did not provide what appear to be
many viable options, so I'm not sure what to do next.

Thanks again for your help!

Larry

PS: Schon spaet in Frankurt...schoene Traume!

Thanks, Scott. In the meantime, I have disabled the
DragLock on my Touchpad and re-booted, and now the
problem seems to be gone. Not sure if re-booting alone
would have done the trick, but either way, I am just
happy to be back in business.

Thanks!
Larry
