i just installed windows xp over windows me (a version i
purchased from my college). when i tell it to shut down,
windows closes and the screen comes up that says it is
now safe to turn off your computer; but the power button
will not turn it off. i went to power options, advanced
and there isn't a drop down box that says: when i press
the power button on my computer: (and then i need the
choice to "shut down"). this is the only way i know to
correct this problem and it isn't even available. HELP!
