can't sync pocket pc

i'm using the new active sync 6.1 32bit and prior to me having to wipe
my drive clean and starting all over again, I don't know what I'm doing
different but now i'm getting this error when trying to sync and I
haven't found any good fix on MS,

First of all, if you are using active sync anything in Vista, that is what
you are doing wrong. Vista uses Sync center, try typing that in the start
menu search box & see what you find.....and B, you need to make sure your
device is allowed in the firewall.

sorry i'm so use to typing active sync, but yes i'm using the sync center
