Can't switch the user session in windows XP

Hi,

If i try to switch the user session (without log off) Windows XP does'nt
seems to react to my request. The only way to enter another user session is
to log off from the active one and reconnect with the other user.

Do you have any idea to resolve this problem ?

I'm having the same problem. I've got the "use the Welcome screen" and
the "use Fast User Switching" both checked in User Accounts.

When I try to switch users from my account, I can go to the welcome
screen, but when I try to switch/log onto another account it shows my
screensaver from my account and then it returns to the wlecome screen.
I can only switch back to my account. But if I log off of my account, I
can log onto another account.

before I had this problem, my pc was infected w/ a virus (forgot which
one) and I started started removing some programs and deleting files. I
also downloaded zonealarm and cleaned up my computer. Also ever since
the virus infection, my computer has been running slower than usual and
the internet is much slower.

It's possible some Window files got corrupted (perhaps the files that
deal w/ fast user switching) and if so how would I remedy that?

Any help would be very appreciated.
